Learn a type of colorwork where you create a pattern while holding only one yarn at a time, just knitting/purling and slipping stitches. All while creating a beautiful shawl. We will be knitting the Yakamov shawl by Urth Yarns.SOCKS ON MAGIC LOOP - Fridays Jan 10, 17, 24, 31 4:15-6pm $75
Magic Loop can be a less "fiddly" way to knit socks (vs DPNs) and magic loop can be used for all forms of small circumference knitting. You can decide to make a fingering weight or DK weight sock.KNIT CLUB - Knitting help on Sundays?? Yes! Come join a fun group of crafters for project help. Urth Yarns Trunk ShowWe are very excited to add a beautiful new yarn collection to our store. Urth yarns is a hand dyed yarn company out of Turkey. All of their gorgeous, rich colors come from plant dyes. They also plant a tree in Africa for every skein purchased.We will have their yarn displayed with lots of knitted samples for you to squish and see how lovely they are when worked up. If you love color, variegated or marled yarns, come and take a peek. We look forward to seeing you!When: Oct. 16-19th, 23-26th

Mary Stowe is the owner of Yarns etc…
She grew up in Greensboro, one of 6 children. She learned to knit at 6 from her mother and grandmothers.
Mary has always had creative and busy hands that knitted, needlepointed, embroidered and sewed. Mary graduated from TheFashion Institute of Technology in New York.
She had many adventures in New York that included working in a Yarn Shop, teaching at FIT and working at Woman’s Day Magazine.
When she relocated to North Carolina, she had the dream of opening a Yarn shop. Her parents, husband and friends all helped make the store a reality.
When her son, Evan, was 8 months old that dream came true with the shop opening in downtown Greensboro.Other things-
Mary taught Knit Textile design for 6 years at the NCSU college of Textiles.Mary was on The National Needlework Association board for 5 years.Mary has been a Sales Representative for several different Yarn Companies in the Southeast for the past 10 years.When not at work, Mary enjoys time with her friends and family, spending time at the NC coast, bicycling, reading, and planning the next travel adventure!
