Mary Stowe is the owner and creative talent behind all three
stores. Mary grew up as one of six children in Greensboro. She
has been knitting since age 6, having been taught by her
mother and grandmother. She has always been creatively
active, knitting, sewing, designing, doing needlepoint, even
making costumes for her high school performances.
Mary graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology in
New York City. She worked at Women's Day magazine in the
Crafts Department, taught knitting at FIT, worked at a yarn
store in the Upper West Side, and had many other adventures
during her time in NYC.
After much traveling, Mary returned to Greensboro where she
met her husband, Chris, had her son Evan (now 14) and
started the first yarns etc... At the same time Mary served for
nine years as the yarn rep to 10 companies all over the
Southeast!
Mary and her family now live in Chapel Hill, when not working
they love to travel and spend time on North Carolina's
beautiful beaches.
Stay tuned for more adventures with yarns etc...
